New Functions for EasyDo, the mobile phone-based credit card settlement service
NTT Comware Corporation (Head office: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President: Michio Sugimoto; below, NTT Comware) will launch the sales of new services of the credit card settlement service using mobile phones, "EasyDo" on April 16, 2009. The service includes continuous payment services for the customers.
Outline of EasyDo services
EasyDo is a credit card settlement service for the customers (users) to use their mobile phones with camera by scanning QR Code *1 printed on an application form etc.This service allows the customers to easily complete the payment without handing their credit cards to a third party.
Credit card settlement related services (e.g. to obtain credit card data, confirmation of credit, sales data transmission)are provided by NTT Comware's management and operation center online such as Internet. This service requires no infrastructures or systems for clients to provide to accept the payment. The customers are able to use the service for 24 hours and 365 days only with QR codes.
New Functions
NTT Comware provides the following two new optional services.- Continued payment is available with the credit cards registered "Continued Payment Services"
This service enables a continuous payment based on the billing information of the client companies to the credit cards registered through EasyDo. The registered card information is also checked for its validity on a regular basis. For renewal of validity or change of credit card numbers, the information will be kept updated for constant use. This function contributed to the client companies by updating monthly card information, task-saving to correct errors or mitigation of risks of uncollected fees.
As the customers are also able to change their credit card information by their registered QR code, which improved their usability.
- Linkage with the existing systems of the client companies "File control service"
The existing system of the client companies can be linked to EasyDo to share the files. Sales confirmed or cancelled, and cancellation of credit are processed with the function. Flexible services are available for the client companies according to their needs of tasks.
The following basic services also were enhanced to achieve higher usability.
> Security Code *2 Secure payment by authentication
In addition to credit card number and validity, the service is available with the authentication using Security Code for secure payment of the customers.
> Four different kinds of payment methods are available for the customers to choose
In addition to the lump sum payment, the customers can choose an option for payment provided by the credit cards such as payment by installments, payment by bonus or revolving payment.
> Web-based service management improved
The customer status data download and cancellation of credit are available in the service in addition to the status report which has been conventionally used by the client companies as "management services". This service facilitates the client companies to start using the services without changing their exiting systems.
Future Scenario
NTT Comware aims to achieve 30 (thirty) clients and the sales of 30 billion yen within three years after the commencement of the service, including continuous payment in addition to the conventional temporary payment services, mainly for the client companies who are encouraging the customers to use the credit card payment option for their premiums and service fees.* Reference: EasyDo services and fee
Terminology
*1Two dimensional code (QR Code):The two dimensional code handles a number of data in a smaller space compared to barcodes. QR Code is one of two dimensional codes. It complies with ISO (ISO/IEC18004) and JIS (JIS-X-0510).
*2Security Code:
Three or four digits of numbers printed on the back of credit cards. It may not be printed depending on credit card companies.
