- - Automatic action tracking of visitors at event venues to improve CS and sales --
NTT Comware (Head office: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President: Michio Sugimoto; hereinafter, NTT Comware) will launch "RFID-based Visitor Tracking Services" on October 15 (thu). This service will be available for the participants of seminars and events in cooperation with TOPPAN PRINTING CO., LTD. (Head office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President: Naoki Adachi).
"RFID-based Visitor Tracking Service" is the solution to automatically track visitors, identify their staying time at predetermined locations and make a report for the visitor action analysis. In the current trend, effective marketing and promotions to directly link with sales are critical. Corporate customers wished to use their exhibitions and seminars as an opportunity not only for public and customer relations but also for more effective sales promotion and marketing.
NTT Comware will use the RFID-based services and provide the tracking report for visitor analysis to support the customers to achieve higher customer satisfaction, marketing and sales.
Overview
Visitors to events will be provided with Semi Active Tag (*) and RFID equipment installed in the venue will automatically collect the data of the time of entry and exit of the visitors or the time for them staying at certain locations by scanning the tag. The system may quantify the interests of each visitor in each product in the event, which was difficult to follow. The report will also be issued for the customers to improve the customer satisfaction in their marketing and sales activities. The feature of the system is to collect reliable data without visitors' actions to place their IC card each time for entry and exit of the controlled area. As the system is also easy to install, which was different from ordinary RFID systems which would require complicated and time consuming installation and adjustment procedures, it is suitable for events or exhibitions only for a limited time. The all-in-one system is available even for one day.*Services included

| * | Semi Active Tag: The RFID tag generates waves when it detects a visitor entering Trigger Area. The tag recognizes Tag ID and Area ID and advantageous compared to Active Tag because of its battery saving performance and easy handling that the visitors would have no need to place the tag on the system for data identification, like ordinary IC cards. It is not only used for the high precision time measurement of marathons and bicycle races but also for a large scale admission control of NTT Comware for about 30,000 visitors. |
