NTT Comware Announces International Standard Compliance with Internal Control Audit Reports Obtained for 3 SmartCloud(R) Data Centers in Tokyo, Saitama and Kyoto
NTT Comware Corporation (Head office: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President: Shinobu Umino; below, NTT Comware) has achieved the ISAE3402 (International Standard on Assurance Engagements 3402) and the U.S. SSAE16 (Statement on Standards for Attestation Engagements No.16) (*1) compliance for 3 of its data centers, Tokyo, Saitama and Kyoto, on March 22, 2013, given the certification of Internal Control Audit Reports (*2).
These certifications demonstrate NTT Comware's commitment to the highest standards of IT securities and operational excellence for its potential customers to use multiple data centers for their business continuity planning in ICT (Information, Communication and Technology) services against contingencies including earthquakes and its induced disasters, as there is growing concern.
NTT Comware continues to obtain the certificates for their data centers in other locations further to meet users' needs for their BCP, IT securities and internal audit.
In 2010, NTT Comware introduced the brand as SmartCloud(R) for their cloud services including IaaS, PaaS and SaaS, not only for IT network services. The data centers meet and surpass the above standards as a secure platform of cloud-based services for its customers.

Compliance for internal control audit concerning physical and environmental securities in data center services
[Purpose of the Reports]
Customers using the data centers could save their extra workloads in a user entities' internal control over services committed to NTT Comware, since the reports are considered to be the substitute certification to assess their compliance to the standards.
It also provides efficiencies for SaaS/PaaS companies using the NTT Comware's data center services to their user entities for their internal control audit.
*1: International standards for assurance and attestation engagements in entities' internal control audit
*2: The report is comprised of the sections, Type 1 and 2: descriptions of a system of services organizations written by their independent auditor, and evaluations under internal control audit standards related to the services specified in the description. NTT Comware achieved Type 1 for Kyoto Data Center, and Type 2 for Tokyo and Saitama. Saitama and Kyoto Data Centers achieved the reports for the first time while this is the second for Tokyo.
