NTT Comware Participates in GRANDIT Consortium
-- Enhancing ERP Solution for Corporate Group Management --

NTT Comware Corporation (Head office: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President: Shinobu Umino, hereinafter, NTT Comware) participated in the "GRANDIT consortium", operated by GRANDIT Corporation (Head office: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; President: Toshimasa Yamaguchi), on September 18, 2014 as a prime partner (*1). NTT Comware considers "ERP" to be one of the key solutions for corporate group management. By participating in the "GRANDIT Consortium", and adding "GRANDIT®" to its solution lineups, will enhance the area of ERP.

1. Background

Given the current trend of expansion or diversification of businesses by M&A or other reasons, companies are in need of sharing detailed corporate information in-house on a timely basis for enhancing their cost competitiveness and increasing the speed of business judgment through further optimization of their indirect operations.
However, since such business operation and management have been led by subsidiary companies taking charge of various business sectors from their viewpoints in a conventional way, the actual operations were not common to be shared by each company and their business management information is not integrated. Under these circumstances, companies are facing a challenge to the entire business group to consider how to achieve both "efficiency of indirect operations through standardization and shared information" and "uniform corporate business information by system integration" while making use of the strengths of each company in different sectors/fields or different business scale. Furthermore, companies, which have implemented standardization of business operations among group companies or system integration, moved their subsidiaries with relatively small business scale out of their management. Such situation further increases the need to enhance the corporate management scheme of the entire group.

2. Purpose of Participation in Consortium

NTT Comware provides the solutions for standardization of indirect operations of over 100 companies, including NTT group companies, as well as for system architecting/operation of the group common finance database system (procurement/manufacturing/distribution/stock/sales/invoicing/accounting/human resources/payroll/attendance records/etc.) for the unified management of corporate information to share on a timely basis. "GRANDIT®" demonstrates various achievements for companies in diversified fields mainly for mid- or small-sized companies, and currently upgrades the system enhancing data infrastructure and analysis functions to realize successful corporate data analysis for the entire group of large companies.

By combining GRANDIT® to NTT Comware's proud experiences and knowhows of system architecting and operation on the Japan's biggest scale of group common finance data infrastructure used by 170,000 users:
- We facilitate the system architecting of the infrastructure for sharing indirect operation data and achieve efficient and advanced way of operating the group system,
- We contribute to reduce costs and accelerate the speed to annual account closing by standardization and simplification of the transactions between groups using the group common finance data infrastructure,
- We achieve prompt and detailed corporate analysis/decision making processes through a batch management of the vast amount of data of each subsidiary on the group common finance data infrastructure by updating the business conditions on a real time basis.
