Trial of Joint Activities for Miyama, Fukuoka Prefecture
- New healthcare promotion services with TV and wearable healthcare devices -

Miyama City, Fukuoka Prefecture (Central government office: Miyama, Fukuoka, Mayor: Chikashi Nishihara), Miyama Smart Energy K.K. (Head office: Miyama-shi, Fukuoka Prefecture, President: Tatsushi Isobe), NTT Comware Corporation (Head office: Minato-ku, Tokyo, President: Shinobu Umino), Nippon Telegraph and Telephone West Corporation (NTT West) Kyushu Branch (Address: Fukuoka-shi, Fukuoka Prefecture, Senior Vice President: Ichiro Uehara), docomo Healthcare Incorporated (Head office: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo, President: Masayuki Izumi), TIPNESS Limited (Head office: Minato-ku, Tokyo, President: Koji Takenobu) jointly start a trial of a new healthcare promotion service named "G.I.M✩TV, GENKI IPPAI Miyama (GENKI IPPAI for "full of vitality")", for promotion of healthcare services in Miyama City, Fukuoka Prefecture. The service is tentatively launched as a trial. After the trial, Miyama Smart Energy will provide the service as a set with their power retailing for individual households.

1. Background and purposes of the trial
Miyama City, Fukuoka Prefecture, promotes healthcare activities to encourage the residents to achieve longer life expectancy as well as to create a society friendly for elderly people to be active. This trial is intended to make healthcare activities be established as a program promoted by the city and have the city to be more attractive for people to live in. Furthermore, various data to be collected during the trial period is expected to be used for future activities of the city.

Miyama City, Fukuoka Prefecture

(3) Number of expected participants
Approximately 50 residents of Miyama City

(4) Activities
Trial is available for: [1] "JINSEI (Lifetime) Age-100 Plan, Healthcare Seminar" to provide lectures by experts in healthcare and fitness, [2] "G.I.M✩TV, KENKO KYOSHITSU (Fitness Class)", the online courses in fitness for multiple locations and [3] "G.I.M✩OUCHI KENKO (Healthcare Program for Home) TV" to broadcast fitness programs on TV at home for the residents to enjoy every day.

[1] "JINSEI Age-100 Plan, Healthcare Seminar"
The seminar is to provide lectures in healthcare and active lifestyles. The lectures encourage and motivate people to understand the necessity of fitness and exercise and have self-recognition of their health conditions.

[2] "G.I.M✩ TV KENKO KYOSHITU"
The fitness class takes place in three community centers in Miyama City. The instructors are not dispatched to the locations but provide the fitness program from a studio. The live program is then broadcast online to community centers in various locations in the city as multi-location/group activities.

[3] "G.I.M✩OUCHI KENKO TV"
In this program, "Hikari BOX+" *1 (HB-2000/ICT equipment) helps the users with easy "body" and "brain" exercises during their everyday lives. In addition, there is an application available for "moveband 3", a wearable device*2 to visualize the results of training and activities (for example, number of steps, calorie consumption) on TV to encourage people to keep exercising.
