NTT COMMUNICATIONWARE CORPORATION refocuses under new corporate name; dramatically strengthens sales as an industry leader in the IT age.
NTT COMMUNICATIONWARE CORPORATION (Head Office: Minato-ku, Tokyo, President: Yuji Matsuo) will refocus organizational structures effective November 1, 2000 toward enhancing its competitiveness and expanding its range of IT businesses. In addition, the company will change its Japanese corporate name to "NTT COMWARE CORPORATION" from "NTT COMMUNICATIONWARE CORPORATION". With the new structure and name, the company renewed its commitment to serve as an industry leader by expanding its lines of business for the 21st century.


Privatized NTT companies, include Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corporation (NTT), Nippon Telegraph and Telephone East Corporation (NTT East), Nippon Telegraph and Telephone West Corporation (NTT West), and NTT Communications Corporation (NTT Com). Through its experience as a total solution provider, NTT COMMUNICATIONWARE CORPORATION gained highly advanced expertise in computer and network integration technologies. NTT COMMUNICATIONWARE CORPORATION also enhanced its networking management expertise by providing services across a wide range of environments, from the networks of telecommunication providers to corporate LAN systems. With highly advanced expertise and enhanced technology, NTT COMMUNICATIONWARE CORPORATION will expand its business lines and provide services to a wider range of IT enterprises beyond the NTT Group.

With the revisions in mid-term corporate targets, NTT COMMUNICATIONWARE CORPORATION has decided to refocus its organizational structures and adopt a new corporate name.

Strengthened Sales Divisions
The Sales Division will be regrouped under three Sales Headquarters. The new Sales Headquarters will focus on different customers, with the NTT East Division, the NTT West Division, and NTT Com Division under the NTT Sales Headquarters; the NTT DoCoMo Division under the NTT DoCoMo Sales Headquarters, and an IT Sales Headquarters for companies outside the NTT Group. Developers will be assigned to the Sales Headquarters to integrate and enhance human resources and functionality. The Sales Division will take the initiative to improve customer satisfaction and develop new market.

System Development Engineers to concentrate on System Headquarters tasks
Conventional system development engineers are classified by service category and will concentrate on tasks related to the newly established System Headquarters. Business operations of the System Headquarters will focus on design, production management, and quality evaluation of total system development by integrating and sharing technology, information, and human resources. NTT COMMUNICATIONWARE CORPORATION will expand system development capacity.

Why a new corporate name was adopted
Corporate recognition, identity, and brand awareness are indispensable for expanding business into the IT market. On the occasion of realigning its corporate infrastructure, NTT COMMUNICATIONWARE CORPORATION has decided to adopt its previously informal corporate name, " NTT COMWARE CORPORATION," as its official title so that customers can easily remember it. The name " Comware" is a combination of " Com," associated with communication, commerce, and company, while " ware" refers to the services provided by the company.
