Animated image community site realized
Circulation platform of multi media contents developed


NTT COMWARE CORPORATION (hereinafter NTT COMWARE, Head Office: Minato-ku, Tokyo, President: Yuji Matsuo) has developed the "Broadband Portal Platform", which enables the contents circulation of multi media that includes voices and/or animated images on the internet.


[Current Situation & Background]
Currently, communication on the internet is conducted in various forms, such as chats, e-mails, and animated images. With the coming of the full-scale broadband age, the demand for communication using animated images is expected to get stronger.

[Broadband Portal Platform Outline]
The "Broadband Portal Platform" is a software, which enables easy and unrestrained management and transmission of created voice and/or animated image contents. It enables two-way communication and allows content site visitors to print comments on the sites. Thus realizing a communication form with animated images as the core, on the internet.

[Broadband Portal Platform Functions]
  • Greeting Function
    Attaching of messages to animated image contents registered on the web sites as video e-mails
  • Comment Function
    Contribute comments, such as opinions or inquiries, regarding the animated image contents registered on the web site
  • Online Simple Animated Image Editing Function
    Direct on-web editing, such as cutting, parallel positioning of multiple animated images, and inserting of static images and texts to the registered animated image contents without having to download the web sites
  • Management Function
    The web site operator is able to variously manage the registered contents and community web sites
    1. Editing and managing on the browser, including user information
    2. Browsing level management, such as "public release", "limited public release", and "non-public release"
    3. Editing and deleting of title and content introductions
    4. User level management, such as "only contents browsing possible" or "contribution also possible"
    5. Transmission management with content viewing displays

With the " Broadband Portal Platform" realization of "e-learning"; scholastic education and company seminars through the internet using animated images; revitalization and computerization of regions with the application of regional events utilizing the bi-directional aspect, and even information sharing between specific users such as alumni association members or employees of synonymous industries becomes possible. Companies may use it to transmit public relations information such as commercials and/or to gather opinions or information from consumers. The usage method can be broadened greatly with new ideas. In the future, with "hosting site developments" and "content circulation site developments" using the same platform in view, NTT COMWARE will support community developments in this broadband age.

It is possible to actually experience the functions on the animated image community web site, "my video" (http://www.myvideo.gr.jp/), which is constructed and operated by NTT COMWARE with the "Broadband Portal Platform". Also, it will be introduced at the NTT COMWARE booth of the "CEATEC JAPAN 2001" convention to be held at the Makuhari Messe (Nippon Convention Center) in Chiba, Japan from October 2nd (Tuesday), 2001 through to the 6th (Saturday), 2001.

    It is possible to conduct editing such as cutting, positioning of multiple animated images, and attaching of texts on the internet without having to download the registered animated image contents.
  • Animated Image Management / Search Function
    It is possible to easily conduct searches of registered animated image contents, settings of "public release" or "non-public release" of personally registered animated image contents, and management such as deletion on the browser.
  • Assessment Comment Contribution Function
    It is possible to contribute comments such as opinions and inquiries to registered animated image contents. Also, it is possible to transmit comments to personally registered contents by e-mail.
