Sales of the Softswitch "SS70V release 4" launched
- High reliability / low cost IP telephone service to be provided due to the integration with the OSS and the upgrading of support terminals -
As of December 3rd, NTT COMWARE CORPORATION (Head Office: Minato-ku, Tokyo, President: Yuji Matsuo) will begin the sale of the VoIP solution series NEXIPT's Softswitch "SS70V release 4". The "release 4" is able to provide an even higher reliability / lower cost IP telephone solution due to the integration with the Operation Support System (OSS); the upgrading of system manager interface; the strengthening of voice quality control with the spectrum control and a line-up of low-priced IP telephones.

[ Solution characteristics ]
The "SS70V release 4" has integrated the OSS which conducts overall communication operation and is able to utilize (1) the "calling charge management function" which manages communication costs by Departments and/or comprehensively (2) the "traffic control function" which prevents decreases in processing capability of the Softswitch in the event of unexpected increases in traffic and supports stable operation (3) the "voice quality monitoring function" which monitors the voice quality of LAN and instantaneously detects quality deterioration and (4) the "line management function" which consolidates wide area transmission networks between company head offices and branch offices in order to support efficient network operations. Also, voice quality can be obtained even at points where the network spectrum is insufficient, with the reinforcing of the voice spectrum control. Regarding the system management, the processing speed has been upgraded and user interfaces that are equal to well-established applications can be operated, thus the convenience has been enhanced.

Installation costs have been reduced for inline power supply correspondent IP telephones which are able to obtain power supply from IAD (Integrated access device) and/or LAN in order to connect low-priced IP telephones and analog telephones to IP networks. |

The Softswitch "SS70V" solution uses the open architecture and has continued to add on links with various terminals and high level functions. The many terminals and high level functions in the line up are provided as solutions that fit customer needs and installation patterns.
[ "SS70V" performance ]
The "SS70V" solution with the Softswitch as its core achieves high level communication performance with toll call management, traffic control systems, private band PHS, Gateway and integration of IP telephones. This solution has provided not only functions such as extension line calls, hold, transfer, pick-up, simultaneous calling tones, caller information displays and call waiting, but also a wide array of expansion services such as audio conferencing, voice mail and unified messages. The "SS70V release 3" was chosen second in the "Best of Show Award (Peoples Choice category)" which is chosen by those attending the exhibition at the "NetWorld+Interop 2003 Tokyo" held at the Makuhari Messe in July, 2003.
The VocalData company's carrier grade Softswitch VOISS is used as the platform for this Softswitch which is the core of the Softswitch "SS70V" solution and it accommodates from a minimum of 100 extension lines to a maximum of 100 thousand extension lines in one system. From the start of its domestic sales in 2002 to the present, a total of over 30,000 lines have been sold.
