SS70V Release 6 includes enhanced office communication functions, including TV phone conferencing and reception functions, as well as mobile functions to provide a comprehensive business communication environment
NTT Comware Corportation (below, NTT Comware; Head office: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President: Yuhji Imai) has launched sales of Business Communication SS70V (below, SS70V) Release 6, the IP telephony system of the VoIP Solutions Series NEXIPT. SS70V Release 6 includes enhanced business functions which utilize FOMA and communication over internal company IP phones to provide a convenient business communication environment.

[Special Features of SS70V Release 6]
Non-audio modes of office communication such as video phone, TV conferencing and chat have been integrated into SS70V, a communication controls solution primarily for internal company IP phones. Business functions including call pick-up, call forwarding, and conferencing functions have been added to the FOMA/Wireless LAN Dual-Network Handsets which integrate FOMA and wireless IP telephone functions.
[Office Communication]
Communication Portal
SS70V integrates different modes of office communication such as IP telephone, video phone, television conferencing, e-mail, chat and file forwarding into a portal application, allowing users to select the mode of communication that meets their needs. SS70V allows users to easily switch between different modes of communication. For example, during an IP phone conversation, users can switch to videophone, or contact a third party for a three-party TV conference call.
Front Desk (reception/secretarial functions)
Using their PC, the reception or secretary can determine the usage status of the phone of the party with whom a customer wishes to speak to. Following this, the reception or secretary can redirect the customerfs call to this party with easy-to-use functions. This solution reduces customer wait time and is perfect for all sections or departments within a company that deal with public inquiries, such as front desks/secretaries or hotel reception. This function can be used by installing the application on your computer.
[Addition of Business Functions which utilize FOMA]
FOMA Mobile Solution
In addition to basic functions such as the sending and receiving of calls and hold, functions such as call forwarding, call pick up, group selection, conference calls and other functions have been added to the FOMA/Wireless LAN Dual-Network Handset. These additions enable the FOMA/Wireless LAN Dual-Network Handset to function as a business telephone, and expand the range of use and convenience of this handset.
Mobile Communication Server
Business functions including address books, schedule and e-mail can be accessed from both the internal company wireless LAN and the external company FOMA network. For example, e-mail that has been sent to your company computer can be read from the FOMA/Wireless LAN Dual-Network Handset at external locations. A function which sends a notification through the i-mode service to cellular phones following the delivery of an e-mail from a specified e-mail address to a computer is also available. As a security measure, information including e-mail text, address books and schedules are all stored on the company mobile communications server. Because this information is not stored on the FOMA/Wireless LAN Dual-Network Handset, this means that information cannot be accessed by non-company parties even if the handset itself is lost.
[Overview of Business Communication SS70V]
Business Communication SS70V is a comprehensive communications system that through its core telephony system, facilitates business communication through video, chat, voice mail, e-mail and other means. This solution is reliable and with a capacity for up to 100,000 phone extensions allows for scalability. From the launch of sales in early 2002, the service has been utilized for over 73,000 lines within Japan.

On May 19th (Thursday) and 20th (Friday), the Business Communication SS70V will be displayed at the NTT Comware booth at IP Telephony and Mobile Solutions 2005 held at Ikebukuro Sunshine City.
