Anti-virus Functions Enhanced by Policy Check.
AdminITy Ver4.2 Terminal Management Software Sales Start

will launch the sales of AdminITy Ver4.2 the terminal management software with the upgrade Policy
Check function.

[Background]
Corporate governance or compliance and threats to network security increasingly originate from
within the network itself, which has made the setting and optimal operation of information security
policy (policy, hereinafter) an urgent priority. However, it is not easy to conduct an integral
security operation and management. Users requires an integrated security solution to monitor
any violation of the security policies and address security policy violations before they occur
on a real time basis in order to maintain a high secure network environment.
[Outline of AdminITy]
AdminITy is the total solution of terminal management. Its all-in-one solution enables a wide range
of functions including automatic creation of IT asset register, an integrated security management
by the administrator, anti-virus diagnosis for PCs suspected to violate security policies and
correction of the violation. It is also effective to be used as the base system for terminal
security. AdminITy, the software based system, requires no change in network devices or settings
that could hinder the introduction of the diagnosis system.
[Features of AdminITy Ver4.2]
AdminITy Ver4.2 has enhanced the security policy check function. It adds two new items including
the process and port monitoring of software prohibited to the current five security policy check
items; patch status check, anti-virus software status, prohibited software and required software
status. Network shutdown function as well as the output of the policy violation report are also
available in addition to the current forced shutdown against PCs of excess in violation.
These functions enable users to diagnose their PCs against violation of the security policy and
provide a comprehensive solution for operation and maintenance.
* Advanced Security Policy Check Functions
(1) Network shutdown of PC with security policy violation
AdminITy forces a network shutdown of PCs that keep violating the security policy beyond the
allowable number and which take no security measures according to the warning of the security
policy violation.
(2) Process monitoring of software prohibited
A startup of prohibited software such as Winny can be detected through monitoring of a specific
process against violation of the security policy.
(3) Port monitoring of software prohibited
Software prohibited or port with potential risk of disclosure is monitored. Once the port permits
such connection (LISTEN), it is reported as a violation of the security policy.
(4) Security policy diagnosis according to search of default files
AdminITy searches usersĀf PCs to check if software required is properly installed on the hardware
while saving the CPU load. If there is no such software, the security policy violation is reported.
* The security policy check function according to the search of prohibited file such as Winny has
been added to AdminITy Ver4.1 and the upgrades to follow.
(5) Diagnosis Report for Security Policy Violation
Detailed statistics and analysis reports are issued for terminals which monitor a series of
violation against the security policy or its user information.
* Other additional features
(6)Wake On LAN*1 function advanced
Multicast distribution*2 of Wake On LAN allows users to remotely startup the PC without setting of
the network device. This prevents failures of the software distribution resulting from the shutdown
of the PC.
*1: The function to remotely startup the LAN-connected PC through the network.
*2: Simultaneous data transmission to designated network PCs.
This new upgrade sends the command of multicast distribution from the master PC to other PC within
a subnet upon receipt of the command from the management server to the master PC (a PC designated
as Master on a subnet in the network. This enables to reduce the network load.
(7) AdminITy client scan module uninstall
AdminITy client scan module (the software required for the client PC for management purposes) may
control unauthorized uninstalling of the software by the user.
