PHISHCUT.an anti-phishing solution by NTT Comware Corporation (below, NTT Comware; Head office: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President: Yuhji Imai) will be adopted by the Daishi Bank Limited (Head office: Nigata-shi, President: Kunito Kojima, below Daishi Bank) as the third operation of the service. The service using digital watermarking technology (*1) will be available on the bankfs website on March 28, 2007 9:00am.

[Background]
Phishing scams are acts of fraud committed by criminals who assume the identity of established financial institutions such as banks, and then contact victims through e-mail instructing them to access counterfeit websites to enter personal information including their credit card numbers and passwords. This type of fraud is on the rise, particularly in the United States.
Daishi Bank has been considering an anti-phishing solution as one of their crucial website security issues, for the users to use secure services.
will launch sales of the upgrade version of PHISHCUT, its anti-phishing solution which uses (*1) on October 10, 2006. This solution will protect personal information from phishing scams which use counterfeit websites to solicit personal information.
[Outline of PHISHCUT]
PHISHCUT is an anti-phisching solution, which is a system which embeds digital watermarks into the websites used by financial institutions as well as internet banking and shopping websites. PHISHNET also determines and informs the users who access these sites whether the website to which they are attempting to send personal information including their User ID and credit card number is real or counterfeit. If PHISHCUT determines the website to be potentially counterfeit, PHISHCUT will prevent the userfs personal information from being sent to the website.
The website for download of authentication system and the dedicated software is available using ASP provided by NTT Comware. This system will require less time for the service and no initial costs. Users will only install the software for automatic authentication.
[Future Scenario]
NTT Comware has set a target of rolling out 100 million for the fiscal year of 2007, mainly for financial institutions.
