NTT Comware launches the sales of FrontDesk2.0, VoIP telephony reception solution
-- IP telephony functions and scales are upgraded --
NTT Comware Corporation (below, NTT Comware, Head office; Minato-ku, Tokyo, President: Yuhji Imai) will launch the sales of FrontDesk 2.0 on April 3, 2007. This application has additional functions of FrontDesk to enable the virtual reception on PC such as SS70V the IP telephony.

[Background]
The current FrontDesk was only for a relatively small business system such as for executive secretaries receiving telephone calls. In order to meet large scale business needs such as reception of telephone calls to a telephone number of company representatives or customer supports of a division with many users, FrontDesk 2.0 was developed to manage Presence (*1) of several hundreds of terminal units and register more telephone numbers of staff. The product will be available for sale.
[Overview of FrontDesk 2.0]
FrontDesk 2.0 is an application to facilitate telephone reception on PC with the IP telephony solution SS70V. This is effective for company representative numbers or customer support.
For instance, if a telephone call needs to be transferred from a company representative number to the division concerned, it was necessary to check the extension number to see whether the staff is available to talk or on another line. FrontDesk 2.0 has the menu on the display with easy operation to process these functions and status check.
FrontDesk 2.0 also facilitates quick transfer of telephone calls from other divisions or partner companies for inquiries or confirmation of the IP telephone status (online or on hold) of executives from the reception (e.g. secretaries office) in a remote location on the menu to respond to telephone calls from customers in a prompt manner.
[New Features of FrontDesk 2.0]
- More numbers of Presence Telephone
The number of terminal units for monitoring the presence increased up to 500.
- Telephone directory and data management on a server which would be easily adjustable for change of employees and extension numbers.

Automatic time settings of telephone call reception FrontDesk 2.0 enable automatic settings of transfer of telephone calls with easy operation on the menu, e.g. transfer telephone calls to the predetermined number after the working hours.
FrontDesk 2.0 displays the presence per organization or staff. This is a function especially useful for many numbers to transfer.
[Advantages]
The advantages of FrontDesk 2.0 are as follows:
- Efficiency of work by easy transmission using PCs, and prevention of miscalling.
- Simplification of the number search using the telephone directory, the time saving (waiting time of callers) through PC inbound and outbound calls.
- Even though the staff concerned is on another line or out of the office, FrontDesk 2.0 enables flexible telephone transfer to other staffs to take the call or to check its Presence per section.
[Business Communication, SS70V]
Business Communication SS70V is a IP telephony solution to integrate the business communication functions other than audio such as movie, chat and voicemail. SS70V has scalability up to 100,000 extension lines with high reliability. This product is sold for the total of 98,600 lines from the beginning of sales in Japan early 2002 to present.
