Sales begin for AdminITy Policy Gate, the security solution to prevent unauthorized access to confidential information from computers violating the Security Policy
NTT Comware Corporation (Head office: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President: Yuhji Imai; below, NTT Comware) begin sales of AdminITy Policy Gate, a new security solution, on October 11, 2007. Through the optional functions which the policy check of AdminITy (*2) is applied, the software prevents unauthorized access from PCs not complied with the Security Policy (*2) (below, the policy) specified for a web-based business system. This software prevents any leakage of confidential information as it controls access from external PCs on Internet, not only Intranet.
Background
The advanced policy check functions of AdminITy enables mandatory shutdown of computers violating the policy or its network in order to enhance security of the end points (each terminal of a network). However, there are recent cases that information leakage occurred through a computer out of corporate management and a new type of solution was needed to control access from outside computers. NTT Comware uses the policy check function of AdminITy as a new solution to control any access to confidential information if security vulnerabilities are detected.Functions of AdminITy Policy Gate
Any access to business systems from computers without AdminITy or those which not complied with the policy on a web-based business system are transferred to a website with alert. Unauthorized computer accesses with security vulnerabilities are rejected in order to protect confidential information on the business system.Special Features of AdminITy Policy Gate
*Internet-based access controlThe software is accessible not only to Intranet but also Internet. Therefore, any unauthorized access from computers violating the policy will be detected and transferred to the website with alert even for a business system linked with outside companies (e.g. clients and agents).

In development of the policy as the basis of access control, Security Dictionary (*3) is provided by NTT Comware for automatic updates of the policy reflecting the latest security information. This function facilitates the security manager to maintain the policy.
