EasyDo, a mobile phone-based new credit card settlement service
The first operation of EasyDo for Tokio Marine & Nichido Fire Insurance
EasyDo, a mobile phone-based new credit card settlement service by NTT COMWARE Corporation (below, NTT COMWARE, Head office, Minato-ku, Tokyo, President:Michio Sugimoto) will be adopted by Tokio Marine & Nichido Fire Insurance Co., Ltd (Head office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, President: Shuzo Sumi, below Tokio Marine & Nichido). The service will be available in October 2008 as a supplemental system of the existing payment settlement. EasyDo is a service based on the secured settlement system using a two-dimensional bar code (QR Code *1) with commodity data. The code is scanned using mobile phone cameras to decode information of the code for credit card settlement on a real time basis.
Background
Tokio Marine & Nichido applied the "credit card settlement system for the payment of car insurance premiums" using the dedicated postcard in July 2006. With this "credit card settlement for the payment of car insurance premiums", if customers make any mistakes in filling out their personal information on the form, they need to fill out a new postcard and submit the correct information for re-registration in a prompt manner. In order to facilitate the re-registration process, Tokio Marine & Nichido has been studying the applicability of NTT COMWARE's EasyDo a real-time credit card settlement for their customers using a mobile-phone and decided to use it.Functions of EasyDo
EasyDo is a service using a mobile phone camera based on the secured credit card settlement system to scan a two-dimensional bar code (QR Code *1) with commodity data.The code is scanned using mobile phone cameras to decode information of the code for credit card settlement (see reference). The service enables insurance subscribers to complete the credit card settlement of insurance premiums within a few seconds without handing someone their credit card or filling out a form.
NTT COMWARE provides necessary services required for credit card settlement (e.g. credit card data input, credit authentication, sales data transmission) at the center system through the Internet. This service available for checking the payment and customer information contributes to save the costs and workloads to cross-check the data.

New Service
The following new services will be available for Tokio Marine & Nichido in addition to the basic services.*Automatic Data Change Service of Premiums The amount of customers' premium payment will automatically be changed subject to the timing of their individual credit card settlement for deposit e.g. one month, two month as required. This automatic status change service will properly update the amount and prevent errors in the amount of premium payment.
