NTT Comware Employees Plant Trees for "Kigyo no Mori Project/NTT Comware (Ome)" on May 13, 2009
-- Total 60 employees plant trees as contribution to the global environment --

NTT Comware Corporation (below, NTT Comware; Head office: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President: Michio Sugimoto) will plant 400 trees in total by the 60 employees of NTT Comware Group companies in Yugimachi, Ome-city, Tokyo on May 13, 2009 (Wed).


NTT Comware signed the agreement for supporting "Kigyo no Mori (Forests of Corporations)" project on February 23, 2009. This activity is conducted by Tokyo Metropolitan Government and Tokyo Development Foundation for Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries as one of the projects of "Kafun no Sukunai Morizukuri (Sustainable Development of Forests with less Pollens". This project is to name the 2.88-hectare forests in Yugimachi, Ome-city as "Kigyo No Mori (Forests of Corporations)"/NTT Comware (Ome)" for NTT Comware to have a sponsorship of the forest maintenance expenses for the next ten years. In the activity, NTT Comware employees plant trees and weed for conservation of the forests.

NTT Comware's corporate social responsibility is to "contribute to the affluent communication society through providing advanced technology-based network and ICT solutions as the company of the information communication social infrastructure. Conservation of the global environment is considered to be one of the most significant issues to realize the "affluent communication society". This "Kigyo no Mori" signing and planting activities will also be a commitment of NTT Comware for the CSR activities including the environmental education for the employees. Through the internal announcement of the project in May 2008, twenty-eight (28) employees were volunteered to be "Environmental Supporters" for promotion of the forest conservation activities including planting trees.
