NTT Comware Obtained More Service Items Qualified ISO/IEC20000, the International Standard for IT Service Management for Four Consecutive Years
NTT Comware Corporation (below, NTT Comware; Head office: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President: Michio Sugimoto) obtained additional service items passed ISO/IEC20000, the international standard for IT service management based on ITIL®(*1), in March 2010. NTT Comware's good practices to use the standards, thanks to the efforts of the departments concerned, have been effectively applied to improve the services since FY2006. The areas of services which passed the standards have been increasing year by year.
NTT Comware has been working on various improvement activities (*3) since FY2006, such as the improvement of services by promoting the standardization based on ITIL. Since FY2009, ITIL V3 life cycle approaches have started to cover the whole range of life cycle of the services including strategies and design, beyond the conventional framework of operation and maintenance. The current additional service items for ISO/IEC20000 certification can be said as one of these achievements.
NTT Comware will continue to make efforts to obtain more certifications of ISO/IEC20000 as well as to improve the quality of services. With promotions of SmartCloud, the cloud service for corporations and other services, to be more visualized for the customers, we strive to further improve the quality of the services and provide valuable services to meet customers' various needs.

Managed Service Provider for operation, monitoring and maintenance of the services and networks in corporate use. NTT Comware provides MSP services for FSC24 (IT operation and management outsourcing services).
*3Various Improvement Activities
(1) Visualization of Services
This is a challenge "to visualize services" for improvement of the quality and value of the services by showing "the status of the services". The purpose of this activity is to ensure security of the services for the customers by disclosing the contents or status of the services, in addition to activate the cycle to measure and analyze the status, discover issues at an early stage and further improve the quality.
(2) Maintenance of Corporate Governance
The SAS70 auditing standard (Type 1) was obtained for the maintenance of the corporate governance for Tokyo Data Center, aiming quality services and real values for the customers. The SAS70 audit reports are to report the maintenance status of the applicable area related to the assessment process of corporate governance under the SOX Act (including J-SOX), including Type I for assessments of the corporate governance status by a third-party auditor, and Type II for assessments of the maintenance and operation status of the corporate governance.
*4PFS-BU PF Business Group
The group provides IT Asset Management Service "AdminITy", a secure file transfer services, internal network services, performance monitoring services and security monitoring services.
*5MSP-BU service Integration (Insurance) Group
The group provides services for maintenance and operation of individual systems of the customers.
*6Union of Japanese Scientists and Engineers ISO Center
The organization for auditing and registration of ISO under the mother body, Union of Japanese Scientists and Engineers,
which covers ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO/IEC27001, and ISO/IEC20000 etc.

The organization to provide various services including assessment of compliance for Information Security Management System (ISMS) and operations of Privacy Mark services to contribute to the IT development in Japan as a public corporation from a neutral viewpoint.
