"Live Commerce" the Japanese Open Source E-Commerce Solution Features "Smart Pit" as its Standard Function
== A Simple, Secure and Easy Convenience Store Payment Solution for Online Shop Owners ==
NTT Comware Corporation (Head office: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President: Michio Sugimoto; below, NTT Comware) and Digital Studio Co., Ltd. (Head office: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President; Norio Itabashi; below, Digital Studio), with a business partnership, will launch the new service of Live Commerce featuring NTT Comware's Smart Pit today. Live Commerce is the open source e-commerce solution of Digital Studio, which now applies the easy and secure convenience store payment solution to its basic service.
Open source software, in general, provide various additional applications as plugins. With Live Commerce, the online shop owners can use the convenience store payment service with a simple click to select Smart Pit on the control menu. (*)
This is the first partnership for Smart Pit with an open source e-commerce solution, but one for e-commerce solution for a fee. NTT Comware and Digital Studio will pursue cost-reduction, sales increase and convenience for online shop owners to contribute to further success and development of online businesses.

++ About Smart Pit, the convenience store payment solution
Online shopping users (customers) will receive the Smart Pit voucher by email when they buy goods or services. The users may print the Smart Pit voucher to complete the payment at convenience stores nationwide (about 25,000 convenience stores of Lawson, FamilyMart, Three-f and MINISTOP, Circle K and Sunkus). The Smart Pit voucher shows the Smart Pit number for payment. Online shop owners have no need to create and send the bills to the customers by postal mail like the ones for traditional convenience store payments. Smart Pit will neither require personal information about the customers, as the number is only the identification for the payment of online shopping. Smart Pit is a secure and flexible payment solution for all the customers including who once were not willing to type their credit card number for online shopping. This is also a useful for online shop owners with the fee only for 120yen per settlement.
