Let Employees to Work At Home with the "Business Continuity/Power Saving Solution"

NTT Comware Corporation Co., Ltd. (head office: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President: Michio Sugimoto; below, NTT Comware) promotes the BCP/BCM (*1) "Business Continuity (BC)/Power Saving Solutions" to deal with the current social needs of saving electricity using their cloud service "SmartCloud". Among the services, the virtual desktop service "SmartCloud Desktop (Basic)" and the device management software "AdminITy Ver.5.0" will start on May 25, 2011 to provide an easy-quick and secure "telecommuting" environment.
Companies in Japan are currently encouraged to reconsider their BCP/BCM strategies to cope with emergency cases such as potential large-scale power failure or disorders in public transportation, as well as their ICT environments expected to apply "energy saving" policies for summer.NTT Comware has been supporting the customer's business continuity with various services including "SmartCloud Data Center". The unique feature of the new service in particular is a total solution of a secure telecommuting with SmartCloud Desktop (Basic)" and "AdminITy Ver.5.0" in addition to the currently available "SmartCloud Mail" and "SmartCloud Desktop (Advance)" for employees to standby at home on purpose or for the cases that they are unable to come to their office.
The New Service for Work-From-Home
This is an ICT solution for secure telecommuting to provide a virtual desktop to use the same desktop environment as that in the office, and a remote access using a computer at home. The users will be able to use the same PC environment as if they are in the office.- SmartCloud Desktop (Basic)
Among the "SmartCloud Desktop" series, "SmartCloud Desktop (Basic)" is available with about 3,000yen/month* to create a virtual desktop environment per section of the customers with a quick and easy process to install within five business days at the earliest. The users are allowed to access the corporate data from various devices including their computers at home or even smartphones at anytime and anywhere. Even in the flexible platform, this service ensures that no data will remain in such devices to achieve both security and business continuity. The current brand "SmartCloud Desktop" is changed to "SmartCloud Desktop (Advance)" with upgrades in service for the customers with a large number of users or who needs a more-secure application for IT governance.

- AdminITy Ver.5.0
The new version of the device management software "AdminITy Ver.5.0" is available. It is a strong tool for IT asset management with high security too. The functional upgrades include limitation of the use of USB memories against the risk of data leakage or flexibility to use more OS. Furthermore, its affordable price supports companies to promote their employees telecommuting while remaining high security in computers to protect data.
Other Business Continuity (BC)/Power Saving Solutions
This is a total solution to support business continuity for various cases such as Data Center relocation, backup sites, multiple-sites, remote data storage, tracking safety information of employees, IT communications, temporary office setups, and new office setups with power saving in design.NTT Comware has been using SmartCloud Desktop for about 5,600 employees in the group companies for their computers, and developed the secure online environments for their efficiency of work. It is also effective to ensure the business continuity for those who work at home or other locations in emergencies including disasters. The service will also be a new solution for telecommuting based on the affluent experiences of NTT Comware.
