SmartCloud Image Base AR, SaaS-Based AR Service, is Currently Available
NTT Comware Corporation (Head office: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President: Michio Sugimoto; below, NTT Comware) launches the sales of SmartCloud Image Base AR, the AR service for Smartphone with special experiences of "moving photos" on September 13, 2011.
1.Description of Image Base AR
Image Base AR is an AR (augmented reality) service using NTT Comware object identification technology. This technology provides users with intuitive experiences as if a photo image would be moving in the screen and obtain detailed information about the object from the movie through applications downloaded to Smartphones. (Patent Pending) After showing the movies, the users are led to websites of commercial products available to buy.2.Description of the Services: SmartCloud Image Base AR
This is a cloud-based service (SaaS) for a single solution of dedicated applications and center server in addition to the software (Image Base AR). Customers may use the AR-based services only by providing images taken by their Smartphones and related movies to activate. The system may also be flexible to extend or downsize depending on the volumes of access, as the center server is configured on SmartCloud Virtual Server, one of the NTT Comware's ICT services.NTT Comware aims about 20 new users in FY2011 with the service including new information sources such as related movies to various analog media such as magazine advertisement without changing the existing designs, by making use of the features of Image Base AR. Image Base AR allows users to directly play new movies related to the existing images.
