NTT Comware Starts A New Service for SmartCloud®, "Big Data Processing Infrastructure"
-- Easy Start of Cloud Environment for Big Data Analysis --
NTT Comware Corporation (Head office: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President: Shinobu Umino; hereinafter, NTT Comware) starts the service of "Big Data Processing Infrastructure" on SmartCloud® in November 2014. This is a service long awaited by many corporate clients who experience rapid increase of data volumes to process.
With this service, corporate clients can use the service at a reasonable price and flexible to meet their needs depending on a length of period to use the service or resources (CPU, memory and data volume) to start only in five (5) working days at the minimum. "MapR", a trusted way of distribution at the enterprise grade, is employed for Hadoop to improve the performance of the system in use as well as for security of data.
Furthermore, it interlinks with various services so as to help usersf businesses such as ICT consulting, architecting of a platform or ICT supports, which has already been introduced as a big data solution to facilitate the use of big data in a wide range.
Currently, many companies have started to analyze massive data to have their approaches of decision-making more strategically, as well as for creation of new services.
NTT Comware has quality services of cloud and hybrid cloud environments to apply to a carrier grade data center services and enterprise systems for many corporate users as well as other services including consulting for how to use big data, architecting a platform or services to use the systems.
SmartCloud® now has an additional service "Big Data Processing Infrastructure" for more users to enjoy the benefits of big data on cloud environments.
(1) The cloud service is available within 5 working days at the minimum
NTT Comwarefs SmartCloud® achieves a Hadoop environment with the performance equivalent to a physical environment even in a vertical environment since SSD storage is applied to the infrastructure, so the users can start the data analysis immediately after they sign up.
With the system to prioritize "shortening the processing time", a high-spec physical environment is also available to meet their needs as a conventional approach.
(2) Pay-as-you-go system effective to reduce costs
With a commercial version of Hadoop distribution, the users were required to purchase a yearly license and the service may become costly for a short-term users. NTT Comware provides a set of the services including the virtual service and MapR with a monthly fee, contributing to reduce the costs for the users.
NTT Comware plans to expand the processing infrastructure services such as increasing the menu of physical servers to further increase the benefits of services for more users to enjoy, and meet their various needs to cope with massive data in a short period of time.
In addition, NTT Comware uses "Batch Processing Acceleration Solution" using Asakusa Framework by collaborating with Nautilus Technologies as one of the big data solutions. This is to combine SmartCloud® to "Batch Processing Acceleration Solution" which effectively applies a batch of enterprise systems to Hadoop environments, to save the lead-time and achieve a low cost considered to be an added-value service.
Accordingly, NTT Comware continues to strive expanding a series of big data solutions to further meet the needs of users.
