Nippon Car Solutions and NTT COMWARE Received the First IT Award in Auto Leasing Industry for "Improvement of Business Efficiency with AI"

Nippon Car Solutions Co., Ltd. (Head office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, President: Makoto Nogami, hereinafter NCS) and NTT COMWARE CORPORATION (Head office: Minato-ku, Tokyo, President: Satoshi Kurishima, hereinafter NTT COMWARE) received "IT Award 2019" (*) presented by Japan Institute of Information Technology (hereinafter "IT Institute").
NCS is the first award winner in the auto leasing industry.

1. Award
IT Award (Area: Management)
Auto lease industry's first achievement in AI-based Automation for billing
-- Efficiency of work and creation of new corporate value through "Business Agent AI" --

2. Reason for winning
NCS, which operates in the auto leasing business, has been checking all the invoices from over one million maintenance companies every year through visual inspection by experienced personnel who manually check and sort out NG (no-good or not acceptable) invoices. However, it has been difficult to secure the accuracy of manual inspections as the number of cases increased.
As a solution to the issue, NCS and NTT COMWARE applied rule-based AI technologies and advanced the first "automating billing slip check using AI to improve work efficiency" in the auto lease industry. Agile development and close communication with an emphasis on having more face-to-face communication are the biggest success factors in this project. NCS, which operates in the auto lease business, and NTT COMWARE, which is responsible for system planning and proposals, built a relationship of trust. As a result, the two companies received the "IT Award (Area: Management)" for the project's progress and its convenience for consumers such as car maintenance shops that should not have a significant financial burden when starting the service.

NCS will promote digital transformation using AI and other new technologies to improve the convenience of business partners and improve operational efficiency within the company.
NTT COMWARE will continue to contribute to customers' digital transformation by providing AI-based services.
